THE NIGERIA NATIONAL AUTOMOTIVE BIO-FUELS PROGRAMME
Green and Renewable Energy Group international (GREG international) and Union Fibre Nigeria Limited is in a partnering bid with the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC) to implement the National Automotive Bio-fuels Programme. The feasibility studies for this project have been conducted on three feed slates Cassava and sugarcane for Bio-Ethanol fuel and Oil Palm for the production of Bio-diesel.
To this end the Messrs will be involved in the actualization of the following key objectives of the NNPC viz:
- Engage in the commercial in-country production of Biofuels in partnership with core investors.
- Secure 10% of NNPC Mega Station Retail Inventory and become a dominant player in the Biofuels business in Nigeria.
- Exploit other cost-effective renewable energy sources like solar, wind, waste to energy, etc. for NNPC’s commercial benefit.
- Earn Carbon credits by engaging in CDM Project, trading in Carbon Credits, and participate actively in the Global Carbon emissions reduction initiatives.
